There were first time winners in both the men’s and women’s events at the ITU World Cup on the Japanese island of Ishigaki this weekend. Frenchman David Hauss triumphed in the mens triathlon after making up a 50 second deficit during the run. In the womens race Canada’s Kathy Tremblay was victorious, coming into her own in the run as she opened up a 20 second lead. She will now be looking to the Olympics to prove herself further.
